The Greater Philadelphia Bioinformatics Alliance is a consortium of regional research and academic organizations dedicated to advancing the field of bioinformatics –the integration of biology and advanced computation sciences that is revolutionizing life science research and holds the promise for significantly improved healthcare.

By linking together the region's broad knowledge base of talented bioinformatics workers in academia, research institutions and the private sector, The Greater Philadelphia Bioinformatics Alliance is working to provide new solutions to major medical, life sciences and environmental challenges.

The Greater Philadelphia Bioinformatics Alliance holds an Annual Retreat (pictured above), providing an opportunity for academic and industry researchers to gather, exchange ideas, and showcase Greater Philadelphia’s research talent. The next retreat will be held Friday, October 31st, 2008 at Drexel University's Bossone Research Enterprise Center. The Annual Retreat includes scientific podium sessions, poster sessions, a keynote address, and an evening reception/poster award ceremony.
